Black Triumph Teardrop Mirrors on R3?

Black Triumph teardrops have been ordered for my Rocket Classic, delivery next week. As soon as I get them installed, will post some pics. Should look very nice with my Red/Black Rocket instead of the Mickey Mouse ear mirrors.

Thanks for the heads up on where to get the black teardrops. Ordered from the same company. The satin black will look good on the matte black Roadster ... much better than the chrome teardrops would've looked.

Thought I'd revive this thread......

I've noticed on my Roadster that my mirrors start vibrating at around 2800 RPM's the left mirror is worse than the right, if I put my hand out and touch the tip of the teardrop mirror it stops. I've tried removing the mirrors and reseating the crush washers, but it didn't help. I guess the next step would be to put the round ones back on and see if they do it too, or if its just because of the added length of the teardrops.

Anybody else have this problem?

At 2800 rpm and above you really shouldn't have much to worry about in your rear view mirrors....just my thoughts.

:D

Given that you've checked everything's tight, maybe try loosening it up just a tad. Have no idea if it will help but I probably can't hurt.

Nup no vibes for me and my teardrops. Do you have drilled or solids? Mine are the solids and I'm gonna join in the chorus of "best mirrors I've had on any bike"

noticed my left one vibrates more than the right when I first bought the bike (still got the stock mickey mouse )at highway speeds tried loosening tighting rubber washers only when Im not hanging on the left side classic bars throttlemeister ends surely the front brake resivor don't absorb that much on the right does it?

My Roadster came with the chrome round mickey mouse mirrors. After a year or so I decided that I like the black tear drop mirrors from Triumph. I bought them and installed them and from day one I have had the vibration. Worse in the left one. I've have thought as well to install the round ones back on and see if they vibrate. I would like to know of a remedy for this vibration if anyone has a cure?

RKTNMYPKT if you install your round mirrors back on be sure to let us know the outcome. That way if might save me the hassle of putting my round ones back on.... and if I put mine back on before you I'll let you know...lol

However I really believe it has to do with something about the teardrops because we both had the same thing happen...... not engine related and so forth.

I agree! :D the teardrops give a much better field of vision plus their cool as hell ;)

Mully:

I had the dealer give me a new set of the crush washers yesterday, so I'll put the Mickey ears back on today using the old washers, take her for a spin, and then reinstall the teardrops using the new ones, I'll let you know how it works out.

Here is a pic of the washers if anyone is interested....
