Bike storage during winter time

Yes California is spring all year around (that for jealous people) and after i lived in most of the US and around the world still i think its the most beautiful place you can live in the whole world but we got jinxed wih few cold days so what? its not only the winter time making me storing the bike we are going for a month vacation and i dont want to mess up the sweetheart, thank you guys for the good advise.

I wouldn't recommend starting her up once a week, unless you are going to go for a short ride. All you do is create condensation in the crankcase, and it does nothing positive for the battery. Let her slumber.

Hell I start mine once or twice a week. The only problem I run into is the wife wanting to know why I started the bike in the basement and shook the house

Does anyone use a battery tender junior on their Rocket and if so is it a good thing ?

I'm using the Yuasa 900 battery tender to keep my Scorpion battery at maintenance (float) charge. Is that a bad thing? Or should I be using the PC625 charger that I have? Did a little research so far and this site indicates it can be used for AGM batteries:

Still trying to verify this though; more specifically from Scorpion themselves or Yuasa. The Yuasa 900 operating manual only mentions to NOT use their charger with dry cell batteries (paragraph 2.6):

I know that the Oddessay PC625 is VERY specific about using a special charger, since the PC625 is a dry cell battery, but the Scorpion is not.

Fred I am currently using jr. ,on stock battery, and it keeps it charged well.
It is a trickle charger so it takes a little while to get the battery back to 100% if you crank it a few times.

Hi NMR, like you I'm running a stock battery. I believe it's still the original one (05' model). I haven't had any starting problems. I suspect batterys are getting blamed for some other issues. On a modified engine you might need one of those super batterys but not on a stocker. Worst case senario my bike might make 8 revolutions before it starts. You don't need much of a battery to accomplish that. Thanks for your input. Fred
