Bike is packed for the first trip

Glad to hear that worked out, though too bad about the Avon grips. The Heat Demon heaters should be pretty tried and true, must have been some issues with install or fuses or whatnot.

It's possible to get the bike off the ground solo, but it's hard work even with the proper technique. I dropped mine on launch once when I got sloppy with the clutch but putting the butt against the seat and grabbing under the seat and the handlebar and "walking" backwards and using your leg muscles until the bike is up worked.

And I really want that MC Cruise for next summer... this is going to be an expensive winter as far as accessories go at this rate.

Lucky you are close enough to the Dragon and BRP to catch them soon on another trip. From a rider from California that has ridden to your parts JUST to do those two rides and Skyway, i'm jealous! the few times i have ridden those have been on Roadliners and cannot wait to attack them on the R3T....if you wait till you switch to Avons, you will love the rides even more! Clicking 20k in the first year of my R3T, it has found many a twisty, but will have to wait till summer for the Dragon. See you in your parts soon.

I remember my first trip, yellow sunshine I believe

@dawb a rider after my own heart... 20K a year sounds right by me... And of course, you being so close to the Sierra-Nevadas is not an ugly thing either. Those Pnoderosa pines have a certain magesty all their own Brother. As do the giant Redwoods and the ancient Bristlecone pines... You are likewise blessed on the left coast...

And I almost forgot the PCH...Sinful

This is my better half, on the Blue Ridge Parkway southbound, north of Roanoke, VA.

The round tube on back has two 1/2 gal spare fuel tanks . . . not used on this trip. The Wolfman dry sack worked well, except that being soft, it drooped on the ends, marring the finish on the saddlebags. That has since been buffed to near new, and next time the bag will have a stiffener either under it or in it. The bag is resting on the OEM rack, which is pretty narrow. My honey was wonderful, and I look forward to more miles with the prospect of our youngest being out of the house come next fall.

Congrats on the trip! Sounds like a nice time out with the wife. I can't wait to get back to the mainland for exactly this kind of weekend trip with my wife and the bike.

Don't stress too much about setting the R3 down, a lot of us have had the errant slow drop while stationary, its a heavy bike and hard to save once it starts going over.

I slow dropped mine at a gas station, must be my age and anger, but it popped right back up like it was a 300lb 250 lol.
