Bike died while in traffic... overheating?

I called the Triumph distributors today and apparently they update the tunes with the dealers about every 6 months or so. Mine was last at the dealer about a year ago so well past the original "fix". I shall try doing it myself with TuneECU 20220.

Your bike is running to lean...lean means hot

2014 roadster..... First day I had it out (about 2 weeks ago), was barely 50F. I was making a left hand turn. As I completed the turn, I rolled on the throttle.. ..... And nothing. I pulled over to the shoulder. Pulled in the clutch, hit the starter, and she fired right up. Probably didn't even have 10 miles on her yet.

Maybe it's one of the things they talk about in the manual where the bike goes into "limp mode". The bike just dying has to be a serious quirk I hope I never have to experience.

Whilst I understand your comment, for me at least, this is a new trait. The bike had been mostly fine until yesterday.

I have downloaded tune 20220 and it has made a heck of a difference in performance. The bike had 20218 on it, I bought it used with standard pipes and It was in the shop with running issues just after I got. So not sure where that tune was from. In any case, it was incorrect.

Very happy with it so far.

Silly...maybe but check the tightness of your battery cables.
Mine died once because of this. Just a thought.

Mine just cut out again while downshifting coming up to a red light. Called the dealer, they said they know nothing about it.

Mine has cut out about 6-7 times in 5 years but has always started up straight away .Only does it on the downshift.

Mine was doing this under warranty and I finally had to call Triumph and complain since the dealer was giving me the runaround. Triumph remoted in to the dealer and they balanced the throttle bodies. Never did it again.
