Best Ramp

of coarse if the winch came loose it would be like a cannon ball:)

ok i will stop being negative.
i had a kendon motorcycle trailer that had a winch that mounted about three feet up never used it but it looked like the cats meow.

When I'm done with it, it is not coming off easy and the rope will never be anywhere near it's load limit.

We're talking about a bike with enough torque to pull the tow vehicle. It has no problem climbing into a trailer or truck under it's own power.

They're talking about using a winch for safety, having it slow and steady up and down for easy one-man load/unload, not because the Rocket doesn't have the power to do it.

my two cents
it is not that there is or isn't enough power to climb up the ramp in my opinion having powered up the ramp into my truck several times but rather the control of the climb where you have to keep a sharp eye to remain centered all the way where only the front brake keep you still if you need to review your line yet to get going again the same hand must let go of the front brake so ever slowly while accelerating so ever slowly while also keeping the feet walking and if you need to back a bit you risk sliding back as the front brake can only do so much in this situation . I went the winch road early and boy o boy what a no drama procedure, easy steady slow climb stop and go no problem no sliding back being held by the winch etc etc I have a remote control in the left hand while holding the handlebars I control it all from that no needs for brakes nor throttle .I can't emphasize enough how much simpler a winch can make thing that much safer to load the beast. to unload I just back up and reverse the procedure , sometime I just let it roll back down without the winch

I found one of those 4500 lb (2040KG) ATV winches cheap in a Flash sale here in Oz for AUD$153 (US$113) delivered.
I like the idea of soft rope rather than wire too. Will be able to use with my 10'x5' dual axle tipping trailer or the 7'x4' single axle one.
Currently AUD$170 which is still a good price.

American Choices . . .
Amazon.com: 4500 pound winch

@1K9 found one for US$99 in the US @1olbull - lets ask him where.

Found it here in USA for $99 delivered. Not bad. She synthetic cable reduces chances of dinging the bike. Would rig it on a removable board to fit between the bed and the cab. Get a car battery, put it in a plastic box and strap it in the back. The whole thing could be removed in minutes.

Got the ramps. Going to set them up Sunday. Will take some pics.

I agree that with the motor a controlled, slow load reduces risk substantially. Will most likely set it up like that. Plus I will carry an emergency battery.

Thank you mate.

$99 I bought mine for that price at amazon .com came with a busted clutch release no problem they sent me another one and told me to dispose of the previous one so I gave it to a friend who fixed it

I'm considering making something similar to this.
The weight of the bike on the tail gate concerns me.

Rampage Power Lift Motorcycle Ramp - 8' Long

I have a similar lift made by Mountain Masters. (Motorcycle Loader ) They are local so saved on shipping and could compare before buying. Here is a shot of my R3T loaded before heading out to Michigan via Louisiana. It takes me about 56 minutes by myself to load or unload bike. Make sure the ramp is wide enough for your rear tire. Mountain Master sells a standard, which will fit a R3T rear tire with about an 1/2" to spare, for same cost got the wide one that would fit a Roadster rear tire. My truck has a 5' 6" bed. You might want to look at a good set of airbags for the rear axle to help level it out.
