Been doing some Thinking.


I also have formed many of decisions regarding my bike from information gleaned from reading all of the posts by others. Its a great site, one which I hope stays healthy for years to come.

Sure there are a few here that seem to get great joy out of turning one members post into an internet brawl.

All in all, motorcycling is a hobby. So long as it gives joy and does no harm to others, I say your doing it right. I love tinkering, fixing, modding. Others find no joy in that, but they enjoy riding, 100 miles a year to thousands per year. And that's good enough for me!

I don’t agree with your stance that you have about being a pretender biker if you don’t spend all your non sleeping/working hours on your bike or bikes.
I have my hands in many pies other than motorcycle pie. I have a fishing boat, 2 bicycles: road and mountain, go to the gym and many other things to take up my time. I’ve only put about 20,000 on mine in the 3 years I’ve had it.
I don’t ride the R3 near as much as you but I also don’t recall you going around me with my wife on the back while in Leakey
But I do love ya

Personally, I have the money and the skill to work on my ride or pay someone to do it.

I wrenched in a bike shop from the time I was legal to work until my doctor ordered me to stop riding motocross due to knee issues.

As for working on my bike now, if I feel like it, I will. If I want to ride one of the other 3 bikes and let someone else work on it, that's what I'll do and not give a sh!t what anyone thinks about it.

As for miles, the R3R had over 10k in less than 2 years, the SD R has 3k in 4-5 months and the bike before the rocket had 25k in under 4 years. And I will still sit here and talk on the forum.

I care not if someone rides 200 miles or 20k miles a year. If they are good people and enjoy what they do, who am I to judge.
 
Interesting thoughts...
I’m not much of a social media fella, don’t care for a lot for forums. This is the exception. The folks on this forum when asked have always provided valuable insight....for the most part, there will always be one or two. When you take a step back and really take a look at how the forum operates I consider it more of a community/family rather than the typical forum. Like any family there are folks we relate to and those that we don’t, we make it work because it’s family. RAA is a prime example, you not only share information and thoughts but actually find ways to meet and put faces to names.

That speaks volumes to the type of folks that are on this site... smile on and keep the shiny side up!
 
There is no two ways about it, this is an awesome site populated with way above average folks. We all ride and LOVE the Rocket III. Some of us are lucky enough to ride often and a lot. Some of us have life challenges that limit our time to ride. The thing is we all greatly enjoy any and all the time we can get out and ride. I don't think we should judge a fellow rider by the numbers of miles he/she rides per year.

I drive a tractor trailer with triple trailers over 500 miles a day 5 days a week. Does that make me a hard core trucker ? I think not.

For what its worth from a low count poster you would have had more respect from me saying your piece sober..kettle black and all that.
