Bead balancing. Does it work or is it snake oil.

No am just going to install the weights like any other dealership would, just slap them on.

I have all ways uses 1/2 to 1oz. more beads than spec. I first learned about BBs in the wheel from my father. He told me about how they used buck shot in their tires in the 40s & 50s. They drove roads in East Kentucky in his youth. I won't say why. and that's where my education begin in the laws of rotational oscillation and dynamic balancing....so much for my BS degree. But that's why I tried it with BBs by Dasey. They have worked for me, your results may very.

So why don't we see the racers and Bonneville speed trials using "bead balancing" or some kind of "goo" product? I'd certainly want my tires balanced at 300 MPH!

Perhaps their wheel are turned on high speed lathes?

Well sense I don't often ride 300 mph and I have proven, atleast to my satisfaction, the beads work it is good enough for me. I would believe the wheels on the high performance machines are tooled to the finest degree. No pressure to use my method over another, a question was asked if any one had experience, I have the experience and have done an unscientific test. Now let's go ride.

And don't forget .... lot of motorcycle tires might not even need weights for them to be balanced. Buy beads and "goo" but the tire really doesn't even need it. I used to work in a tire shop many moons ago and some car tires didn't even need weights added after running it on the speed balancer. Car tires are much bucker and not tight speced as motorcycle tires and wheels I believe.

My last tyre - the balancing was nothing more than the valve weight.

For what they cost they shouldn't need balanced

Over the years I have that if you one the yellow dot up with the valve stem tires are good to go.But then again I don't ride consistently over 100mph either.
