Barber Motorsports Museum ride: Birmingham, AL

Just returned from a week-long ride to the Barber. Holy cow! Motorcycle overload!

Saw almost 1000 bikes, but a few really stuck with me.

If you haven’t visited this place, I highly recommend it.

I did see that! We only had the week to see the museum and ride 1200 miles, so that ride wasn’t possible.

On Thursday, the weather was beautiful so we took a detour on our way south to Tallahassee: We rode down the Talladega Scenic Byway—described as Alabama’s most scenic drive.

That pretty little road also passed through Cheaha State Park and went over Cheaha Mountain—the state’s highest point at 2,407 feet above sea level.

We eventually made our way south through Georgia and into Florida, arriving to the hotel after dark.

Went down a couple years ago for the Vintage Motorcycle Festival. What an absolute blast. Hope to attend again someday.

Back in the day I had the 1969 Trident equivalent. One helluva bike but I didn't like the style of the mufflers! So much smoother and deceptively quicker than my 650 Bonneville that I also had at the same time. Two very different riding experiences! The Trident didn't vibrate like the Booneville with a handful of throttle so at first I didn't think it was fast...

Really looking forward to visiting Barbers the next time we visit her son in Pensacola. It's been on my bucket list for a while now...
