I got sick of replacing mine so I pressed some high carbon tool steel into the end of some tensile bolts. Now they last 10 times longer.
Side benefit :
The pitch of the grating noise has changed with the carbon steel and is really easy to put up with for extended periods of time

So true but I do enjoy taking turns at night and grinding the pegs. It puts out some serious sparks and scares the crap out of the motoring public. It wakes up the stupid f*** on their cell phones when they see sparks rooster tailing 40' behind my bike. Good times.
