Just got new Avons.. Will fit them and see if they are better than the metzlers.. Went with the 140/75 front to improve steering..should be a bit of humour to see if she turns in better
Be carefull lowering the front of a Rocket. @1olbull and a couple of others on here can tell you about it. Doe's this mean that Triumph Springwood might fit Avons and Bridgestones now. Past experience there pre @Whippet was they will only fit OEM Metzelers

I have tried for a while to get Avons and bridgestones.. Its slowly happening, the exedras are on back order.. Avons i have now been allowed to stock.. I have never been a fan of the expensive metzelers.. But rest assured if you guys want bridgestone or avons i will get them .. And they will be a sharp price if you mention you read it on here
Bridgestone Exedra Max in 240/55 - 16 s simply aren't available just now. Fact is they are OEM on one bike only; the C109. That so many of us are putting them on Rockets has started to bite and expected demand has been far exceeded. A small plus is that C109 owners seem to be going for the lower profile Metz and Avons that we are overlooking, most likely because the lower torque of the Suzuki benefits from the lower profile whereas the Rocket eats up the higher profile of the Bridgestone with ease.

How are these tires doing for you? I plan to make a change soon and want a smaller tire but still nervous about negative affects like ABS going out or front end becoming too nervous.
I've recently put a cobra on the back in place of a bridgy....I'm going straight back to the bridgy when the cobra's worn out - good in the dry and definately an improvement on the metz but riding a 370kg monster all crossed up in the wet weather is getting old fast....
...front is a different story all together. I run the 150/80 cobra and love it. Heaps more confidence in it than the metz and I've pushed it pretty hard, plus it feels a **** load better in the wet than the metz did.
I see a lot of people are doing that on the forum. So you don't like the Avon on the rear? Is it really that noticeable to you? I guess I have to go with that combo at the next tire change...maybe by the end of the summer if I get some miles put on it.

Bear in mind that with the OEM tires, the Roadster rear axle sits lower (closer to the pavement) then the front axle.
This is hardly condusive to primo handling. The Excedra Max places the axles level and improves the handling.
Now, IMO a 140 size front tire increases the improvement by lowering the front axle to be slightly lower than the rear.
Again, IMO you would be making a huge mistake by going to a smaller rear tire!
On the front, a tire smaller than 140 will trip below the circumferential ratio of both tires to the ECU and disable the ABS.
You shall still have brakes, just not ABS. I tried a 130 and this happened to me.
In addition, that small of a front tire (130) seriously reduces ground clearance allowing the peg rails to contact the pavement.
NOTE that the Roadster peg rails are much lower to the pavement than are those of the Standard or Classic models.

Yep its rubbish in the wet...compared to the EMax. Couldn't really pick the difference between the avon or metz but both are a distant second to the Bridgy. Unfortunately my EMax was punctured twice so I had to change it out early and can't comment on its longevity.
Haven't really noticed anything untoward in the rain with my Avon Cobras but then again I never push the bike in the rain anyway, tend to ride on eggshells if I have to go out in weather. In the dry they handle great on my R3T, and the whitewalls are a bonus for looks as well on the T.
