Avon cobra or Bridgestone exedra rear?

Have tried all 3 that are available........Had to replace the Avon before it was fully worn due to a screw and then the bead went when it was removed for fixing.......Avon is much better than the Metz, but I (in my opinion) think that the Bridgestone is slightly better................ Best advice, try it and if its not for you replace it with the Cobra next time round.

I get about 16,000km out of a rear and 24,000km out of a front with Avon's. I ride 2 up almost 80% of the time and there isn't a corner here to be found.

I ride around 13000 to 15000 mikes a year so I am gunna do research on the dark side. A lot of my miles are in the mountains and I ride hard and turn hard.

Anyway this is my first tire change on my rocket so it's all new to me. Thanks all

I just installed an Emax on mine. What I like, price, handling is good, straight line traction is good. But all in all, it's really a personal thing. If that were not true we'd all wear the same shoes!

Running car tire for now. Plan on running E-max and 140 Avon when I get my pipes from Paul. No real problems with car tire but handling from what I have read on here can be improved with the mentioned tire combination. Figured I will give it a shot. Ran Avon's and they are OK but in 15-30 degrees weather the tires did not handle well.

sonny, I believe that you'll find the Michelin V-rated, Commander II 140/75 17 to be a more durable and better gripping/tracking front tire (especially in the rain) from what I've heard and read, that should cost you a bit less than the Avon. After running three different front tires in the 130, 140 and 150 sizes, I found it to be the superior match for the EMax rear under all road conditions I've encountered.

Same as Phil said, have done the150 as stock, 140 liked better and are currently using130 as I don't have ABS.

I've been running the Excedra Max on the rear for quite some time now.
I get between 4-5K miles from them.
I'm currently running a 140/75/17 Avon Cobra on the front, a great combination for me.

I've been saying for years that those Aussies and Kiwis must have roads paved with diamond dust as so many don't attain the kind of tire mileage as we do.

Our Roads here are made with quite coarse chip metal, not all roads of coarse, but its far from smoothness of the Concrete super slabs in the USA.
It does offer good grip when one is blasting hard through curvy corners but you can just about see the amount of rubber worn off after a good ride.
