Big kms????

Hey guys, I bin missing from here for a couple of years!!! Busy. No...not there!!! Anyway, its a frign million miles to ANYWHERE on the east coast so my appearance will be either unlikely or a last minute decision. As it is, i have no idea if this H U G E event is actually being planned or is going to be a smaller (and easy to plan) journey.
I'll stay tuned. However, I do have a plan to visit a friend in France mid 2012 and tour his region on m/bikes for about 10 days. Looking forward to that.
My Rocket is still such a dream to cruise on, only 20,000 kms on an 06 model is disgraceful, I know, but I also now have a BSA Thunderbolt and a Suzi motard.
Take it easy and hopefully I'll caych up with most of you soon. Cheers, Big Y

You're on. I'll work on it. Got a son to get through his final school exams first and then...... who knows.

I feel I should know this. SBK? Anyway, don't sweat it Hanso; we'll be riding up together whenever it is.
SBK= World Super Bikes you know the "near" production class bikes, you remember Troy Baylis, Carl Fogity. Friggin fast blokes on friggin fast road bikes "just slighty worked" do you want to come as my guest (marshals get free ticket for guest) if I do go next year again depends on whether I go to States.

here or Canberra very similar distance still a very big day up to Qld border towns, let alone Bris'y you are talking close to 18 hours minimum ride time (google maps say 15hr45 mins that does not include rest and meal, fuel stops) I have found that while google map are fairly accurate they do not allow sufficent time for most riders, I have done it form here to Phillip Island in less time than they say ( no rest or food just refuel quick piss once on the way) but wont tell you the risks I took on that one very fast (well over 140klm/h most of way) trip on average the average rider needs to add at least another hour and more the longer to trip for stretching etc. I would suggest If we where to do it leave here Wed morning get north of coff's maybe as far a Ballina Then head up to bris'y thurs and you would have to allow tuesday as well, just to far in one day..... I have a wifee that would like to see me in one piece to do it in one day to big a risk with the big hoppy things not to mention fatguie JMHO

Understand fellas, it is a big ride (but i love 1,000 klm days back to back though get in that travelling zone) and i remember the run-up to Festivus is always an expensive time with kids and demanding spouses No worries.

Depending on when, but I'll make every effort to be in it. Does anyone know what happened to Matty? He was keen for a ride, but I haven't seen any posts from him for a while??

The distance doesn't really worry me either. It will be a matter of finding the time, sorting out the kids and missus and also coping with Festivus (you're a funny bugger). It's the trip home that I wouldn't be looking forward to.........

G,day captains

Man I like the response, fantastic!!!! Considering the distance from Victoria and the western states I have an Idea that just might pull this thing together to secure an annual event in alternating states. (including the west)

As you would all be aware to succeed we need to get a plan together, go on the scrounge to get the most we can for free.

Venue = Local park to get dispensation to camp and hold bike show,

Food = Lions or rotary club to provide food and drinks we promote charity and get more support.

Triumph = National promo for product display and demo ride for every thing triumph.

Events = organisation of display ride of all our rockets, Drag venue for those interested, Dyno tuner.

This is just to name a few, maybe some of the replies to the first post would like to organise a get together to get some plans in motion and the event off the ground.

Email me if your interested in getting involved Thanks Marty
