Are Triumph Rockets reliable?

So far, my GT has been very reliable, but only a year and 5000 miles. Most times the reason to be in a forum full of men chest thumping about the same bike, is to get heads up on things to maintain and be aware, and I think that is why you mostly will see problems when you look in a forum. When things are good, well, we are just riding not typing... then again, we need more female members here. then, most likely we will have more post unrelated to just problems.... back to the funny stuff section

I’m not sure I should even post here but I will. I’ll start by saying I like both my first and second generation Rockets. Both have proven adequate reliability that equals or betters the multiple Harleys that I have owned.

If the OP has ridden a new Triumph then he should know how different the R3 is from any Harley V twin. Go on the Harley forums and you’ll see the same frustration with the company and issues with the bikes that you see on every brand forum. If you feel like the deposit is a mistake the get it back and ride the Harleys. Be advised that even if you spend $20k on the motor your not going to beat the Rockets in any category except exhaust noise.

Every mechanical item breaks and there is financial risk in every purchase, that’s life.
PS I wonder if this is a serious thread or just spamming. I guess I took the bait.😅

Doc, I must add, my Rocket was very comfortable. Did many 8 hrs on the bike days. aaaand it has a much more power and overall performance to cost ratio than the HD.

Ice Your R3/2500 is worth the 23k they ask for. There is nothing like it. You did good. The dealer is close which is a big plus. The HD is no match. Looks and sounds good but it lacks the performance.
