Apes anyone?

The mechanic/machinist I use sucessfully bent (twisted) my bars to a better angle with no deterioration of the chrome. He removed them, put them in a vise and relocated the hand position by several degrees. Voila! New hand position for almost free.

Might have to try that, my wrists just wont adapt to that angle on my 08 R3T

Sell the ones you have ,believe it or not some people actually prefer them .Then buy some bars off a standard R3.
I don't know if its a good idea to keep bending metal

On the subject of apes ,they are a fashion statement ,no logical reason for them .
I get enough flex from the standard bars on hard cornering.
I would like to see them put through a crash avoidance test or other tests that push the bike and rider to the limit.

I wouldn't have those things on anything, ever.

I see them on Hardleys practically every day and I wonder; what the Hell was he thinking!

Actually the 10 or 12 inch apehangers that Harley put on some of their Dynas are surprisingly comfortable. Only ever ridden that one bike with apes .. a Dyna loan bike but I liked them. Wouldn't run them on my Rocket .. on my Speed Triple.. maybe
