I changed out my short windscreen on my Corbin Fairing for a 15" w/ an adjustable vent (the ones they use on the Goldwings) 8" taller than stock Corbin. Anybody having trouble with the fairing flexing too much at the upper part where the windscreen attaches and bouncing around alot at high speeds? I may have a solution, I made up 2 brackets utilizing the 2 outer allen screws that hold the windscreen on and attaching the other side of the brackets to the handle bars using a typical U-clamp bolt. I used 1" X 1/8" flat stock brass to make the brackets and SS U-bolts & chrome acorn nuts to accent it. I don't know whether I should paint them black, chrome plate them or just leave them brass. I don't care too much, you can't see the left one it's behind my GPS and Radar detector but the right one is just sitting there all brass and polished up (looks like gold actually). I'll take pics as soon as it stops raining. But no more buffeting in the wind, it's as stiff as a teenage **** if you remember what that's like.

Take some pics, but personally I'm asking why do you want such a tall screen in the first place? I wear a full face helmet in the winter and a 1/2 in the summer and an 8 inch with the Corbin cuts all the wind and rain I need it to!

I get absolutely no buffeting, no movement from my glasses or side wind. I like it when everything I'm looking at isn't moving all over the place. The only air I get is from under the fairing and from my vent which is adjustable to gently blow on my face or all over my chest. Kind of like A/C. I can close the vent when it's cold and get hardly any wind at all (handy this time a year). I have never rode a motorcycle so smooth concerning the wind. That extra 4" may make a differance besides the 8" windscreen reminds me of the one I had on my Harley, the edge of the windscreen is right at my center of viewing and actually it used to cause me neck pain because I was always ducking under it or straining to look over it so I figured the 15" would be perfect, it ends just above my viewing area. I think the buffeting kind of wears you out after a while. Which is why I can ride 300+ miles a day with no fatigue. For me it's perfect.

Ok here's some pics

Don't pick on me about my drinkholder  See warp9.9 I don't have to stop for beers I just reach behind me into my beetle bag/cooler and put another ice cold one in my trusty beer holder. This made me think of another idea: does anyone make a coolie cup that looks like a Coke or 7-Up? We could be drinking a Bud but it would look like a soda!

Hi,

I'm running a 16" Clearview during the winter. No problems at all.

Its a listed part for a Harley of course. So I did have to cut off
some extra tab material at the bottom so that it would be identical
to the smoke original from Corbin.

My guess is that since you have a Honda screen, it didn't really fit
as tight as a Harley screen,

Cheers

I'm sorry I should of clarified that it is a Harley pattern windscreen with a Honda Goldwing vent. Your's doesn't bounce and flex a bunch at high speeds?

Hi,

No its solid as can be. Is yours identical to the original where it fastens
into the fairing ? I had to trim off mine to fit with a Dremel tool.

Roy

Yeah it's the same as yours. It's solid as a rock now so no matter. Alot of the flex came from the fairing itself when the wind hit the windshield at high speeds it pushed the windshield back a good 1/2". I know this because my radar detector is at least 3/4" away from windscreen but when going 80 mph it's almost touching it.
