Anyone know......

Don't waste your money loading the TORs tune. It will cost you power.

Wise words from Pig9R, Bob. There's no need to get the dealer upgrade just yet. There's no real issues with waiting till we get some feedback from Wayne (apart from the frustration of waiting). Bloody service manager's off today (Sat) and the 2 wrenches who are on, know nothing.

Once you get the key you'll be able to choose from a large number of tunes from the stock TORS tune through an increase in 4th and 5th, through to the 100% secondaries in all gears that GPSMAZ uses. When you do get the key make sure you have the correct program version loaded. I didn't pay attention and had the wrong program version and boy, did I have some problems loading the new tune....all my fault.....as soon as I grabbed the right version everything went smooth as silk.

Thanks for the advice Pig9R and PeteOZ,

I will hold off getting the dealer to download the TORS tune. After putting an underseat K&N and the TORS on my 08 R3T, it woke the engine up a bit. I do not want to put it back to sleep.

I am not getting any sever conditions of a lean running engine (that I can tell) using the stock tune with TORS and K&N. I get very minor and occasional popping on deceleration. From my "seat of pants" feel, it seems like it is running a bit "thin" when doing roll ons at 70mph, hence, I was thinking of getting a new tune downloaded to fatten it up a bit. I am aware of the other R3T tunes available and would like to try them out when I get the Tuneboy key.

So Pete, do I just need the latest version of Tunedit? or do I need to get the latest version of Tuneboy and Tunedit? I think I have Tunedit version 3.5.5. Not sure what Tuneboy version. If i recall, I had to upgrade all the software the last time I got a key as well.

I'm using Tunedit version 3.9.1.6 Bob.....(I don't use the Tuneboy.exe application). I know that works on the R3T. They'll tell you which version to use when you get your key.

My problem with versions was that I work in IT and have been caught out with outdated versions in the past on other applications so I thought I'd be "proactive".

I got onto the Tuneboy site and downloaded the "latest" version....dumbo....It hadn't been updated on the site and was actually an earlier version that the one that came on the CD (yep - I didn't check !).

What this meant was that it was screwing up the ECU during the download and effectively continued to perform internal ECU updates even after the ignition was switched off - result....flat battery the next morning and no valid tune even after recharge....and of course the more you try to fix it, the deeper you get in the sh!t.....

Fortunately I was able to get some invaluable advice from GPSMAZ (for which I remain eternally grateful) who had already done an install, and we were able to sort it out after a few days of frustration.

All my own fault. if you follow the instructions it all works flawlessly.

not to make excuses but.....

I am still waiting for my new tuneboy that I bought in a recent group buy. I understand that customer service and communication have been an ongoing problem but at the moment I am giving him the benefit of the doubt because as Shane said [and I quote].................
***UPDATE***

I sincerely apologize for the delay everyone, but I have finally heard from Emma & Wayne...and I can't argue with their reason for being absent over the last couple of days.

Here's the culprit...

YUP!!! They had a baby. The baby was planned, but did come slightly earlier than expected...

I'm fairly certain they are now home and things are progressing nicely. You should be receiving an email shortly with the status of your orders, and you should be receiving them shortly. Once again, I apologize for the delay...thanks for your understanding.
