Anyone have the R3 just shut off while riding?

If joe Lucas ceased operations in 1996, how is he still causing trouble after all these years?

Must be reaching out from the grave and having some fun!

Get home before dark!!

where is that fuse located ????

Went out for a night ride tonight to enjoy the unseasonably warm temps. When down shifting from 3rd > 2nd bike died on me again. 3rd time this has happened since I bought in mid Oct. It is almost like you hit the killswitch off. Still scratching my head on what is causing this as it seems to be an electrical issue.

I am coming up on 500 mile service very shortly here and I plan on letting them know to look into this. I notified the salesmen about the issue during test ride and the incidents after I bought. Heres to hoping they can find something.....

OK, just got off the phone with tech at the dealer and he said he has a few in the shop with the same issue. He said he is still waiting on a response from Triumph for possible solution/what is causing the problem in the first place.

Bringing the bike in for 500 mile service this weekend and more than likely packing up for the winter pending weather conditions. I'll report back with any info for any for those who are experiencing the issue.

looks like the experts is not answering so i will give it a try.
it seems like on the new bikes most of them stop that after they have been driven a while and some of them the dealers have reset the tps and idle control motor and then they were fine.
on the earlier models they can use the tunecu and raise the idle.
u r probably going to have questions and may be the other guys will give u a hand
i am not real good at explaining.

Mine also went DRT while cruising down the highway at 60 or so.
Did it several times over a two month period and started back up after a little unnecessary fiddling.
The last time twas for good and would not restart.
A new main fuse solved the issue!

I was told by another member here that he soldered a little solder to each terminal of the 30 amp fuse in which made it hold better in the connectors. It worked for him doing that way.

Thanks, Mully, I shall certainly keep that in mind should the issue ever arise again.
Wonder if I can install another PDM60 and eliminate ALL the darn fuses???
What say the GURU? @DEcosse

Here is some food for thought....

I was talking to my friend today about the issue and he had mentioned the kickstand. Now I feel like he might be on to something.

It has only happened to me on a down shift and the kick stand is right below the peg....sooooo..

The scenario is: Down shift, possibly a hard down shift, it jossles the wiring or kickstand to the point the bike says "kickstand down, kill engine," even though the kickstand isn't really down. This seems to make a hell of a lot of sense to me.

I could understand if it was an idle problem and it was just dying at a light. But this is happening in motion and is most certainly not part of a break in period as it is a pretty big safety concern IMO. You should never have to worry about just dying mid intersection or on the road as a part of the bikes temperament during a break in.

I supplied a 2 x pdm60 keyless kit to a Sprint owner Steve, and eliminated his fuse panel completely - i also added a fuseless single channel solid-state constant power source (of my own design) to supply the keyless module power
I'll take a look at Rocket schematic to see how it might pan out
