Anyone have the R3 just shut off while riding?

THE ENGINE LIght always come on when the engine dies.
there fore the engine light is not a problem it is doing what it is suppose to do. the problem is the engine dying. its probably because the tps or the stepper motor is not adjusted right. mine has 30000 miles on it and has acted up a couple of times i have just sprayed the linkages good with wd40 and worked them a few times and then it worked great.
not all dealers have mechanics that knows how to set the r3 if u have tried the dealer and it did not help then i think that your best bet is to find a mechanic that can set the tps and the stepper motor or get the cable for the tune ecu and download the free tunecu and then the experts on here can help u.

WHY?
Makes no sense to me . . .
Something is causing it to ocassionally stall and whatever that is won't just fix itself.
 
the problem is the dealer where I live is the only triumph dealer for 4 hrs in any direction. but they think they know everything about the bikes, a bunch of skinny jean wearing vespa riding hipsters.
 

Just bought a brand new R3R on Saturday and during the test ride when downshifting from 4 > 3, the bike shut off. Naturally I panicked as it was during the test ride and I thought I broke the bike . I clutched in, and hit starter, she started right back up. I remembered reading this thread and mentioned it to the salesmen when I returned, and he said he hadn't experienced any issues when he rode it the day prior. Took the bike back home and did ~100 miles yesterday on Sunday with no problems. Brought it to my friends house today just down the road to let him take the bike out for a spin and when he was pulling back down the street, he down shifted from 2 > N and same thing happened again. No mechanical noises, no nothing, just a complete loss of power.
 
I was having the same problem, went and had the TPI checked and calibrated. I still had the issue. the dealership said they couldn't find any problems. I did notice with premium gas it made a different I now have 1000 miles on her and she seems to be doing better.
 
When ever my bike act up, I caress her belly and whisper sweet nothings to her! If that does not work I talk dirty to her! That always works and makes her run mean!!
 

I was running midgrade, maybe on next fill up I'll go with premium and see how that goes. Although it might just be a placebo, you never know . Also, I talked to dealer today and they said they would reach out to Triumph to see if they have anything. I will report back with anything I get.

The Rocket has an independent spirit. It will never be completely obedient, even if everything is tuned perfectly and all parts are in good working order. It is just not in its nature. And for God's sakes never ever post on this forum that your Rocket is working perfectly. That is really bad ju-ju.
 
Mine shut off while riding. After doing some wiggling of the fuse box it came back to life. It was the main 30 amp fuse barely making contact with the connectors. The fuse connectors in the fuse box had pushed out the back. I by passed the fuse box all together and install a in line fuse holder. Havent had the problem since. I tried to push the connectors back in the fuse box but they acted like they was going to do it again.
