Any Tricks to Removing Locked Fuel Cap?

Allow me to clarify first i did not say to take a die grinder and cut the gas tank apart i usually use an air grinder so sparks never entered my mind even on a tank that has been empty fo five years.
Now if you are so dumb that you take a 14 inch cutoff saw and try to take off a gas cap off instead of cutting the piece of plastic then you should get a qualified mechanic. And also if you cant understand the post or the way itis explained or even try
To find a way for someone to explain what they mean or clarify or post a better idea.
I have said many a time that i am not real good at explaining and to ask questions if you dont understand.
So if you don't understand my suggestion then sing out.

its not you, its all of these bad ideas combined from everyone, drill out a lock that cant be replaced, force a key to brake off. Your brute force isn't that bad, but some are. You are about as qualified as they come, IMO i would take your approach if i was forced to destroy something. BUT i don't know why you would unless it meant you can no other way to get home and tow trucks stopped existing.
I dont mean anyting other than the bovious "why" not the who.

I may have been on the wrong side of this too... i am confused, i just realized that this is not about a missing key? is it the issue that you have a key but it wont unlock it and you wonder if the lock was different? the lock for the ignition will be the same as the tanks lock.
if thats the case, the issue is that the lock is jammed and nothing any of us advised you to do will work other than chemical attacking the issue.
If thats the issue, then soaking the lock with either evaporust might be the way to go. also some heat from a heat gun might help..

again, sorry if i came across too strong here, its not my mission!
