Alternative starter motor, in Aus.......

Peter, $235.43 for the whole unit is not too bad i reckon.
Its just that if it doesnt fit, bugger.
Ill compare the photos to the stocky anyway.

Ill give it a go, but when i mention i am after something that i can fit to a motorcycle most seem to have a little fit.
I may have an old school Auto elec that might help.

$216.45 + $45.95 Delivery from Amazon Australia for Au$262.40
or Au$235.43 from USA via eBay.

Otherwise use model variant list provided to search for RAVs or Camrys and Lexus etc here in Oz at wreckers or eBay. The VIN will refer to start of Model and may not FULLY match Aussie VINs as ours may come from SE Asian / Japanese plants rather than USA plants but engine series codes should be similar.

Remember this from the link I posted https://www.hemmings.com/blog/article/high-torque-starters/
PMGR starter is our type - Permanent Magnet Gear Reduction.
If you read the article, although old, it confirms that with our low compression stock motors it is overkill. Claviger has 11.5 : 1 pistons and heads. Also Kw rating can be misleading without torque figures as well apparently.

The Triumph stock is 1.1Kw, the auto alternative is already up 10% at 1.2Kw, then 1.4Kw and even 1.6Kw higher torque versions are available.
