Yeah - that's much better. Is the strip of metal that the belt buckle is fitted to, already there. Mine looks a mess but maybe it's because of the horn and wires and clips etc.

Barbagris, it is a winter project, but winter is fastttttt approaching in Maine. I will run some prototypes by the group for input or discarding. Owl, I follow your same rule of appearance is, well maybe not all that matters, but it does has to come FIRST. Who was the guy who said form follows function? Got to google that quote. He got it backwards at least as far as motorcycles (and most other stuff is concerned).

So this is what I found. I could have (and may, write one which flips the idea to function following form).
"It is the pervading law of all things organic and inorganic,
Of all things physical and metaphysical,
Of all things human and all things super-human,
Of all true manifestations of the head,
Of the heart, of the soul,
That the life is recognizable in its expression,
That form ever follows function. This is the law."
After all, most animals have aesthetics as a criteria for matting. I rest my case.

That's funny. I was looking at the Skull and Crossbones at Pep Boys this afternoon; however I opted for the Yosemite Sam trailer receiver cover (all metal). When I have time; I'll try to mount it maybe sometime this week:
I think Yosemite Sam's hat will fill in the narrower gap at the bottom middle of the headlights. We'll see....
I must admit that the horn cover was not my original idea. I believe it was Gothlander who told me where to get one. Thus there are only two in the world like it, one in Oz and one in the U.S.
The flyscreen and mounting brackets are from Evil Bob. It originally had a Union Jack facing but it got nicked pretty bad. I tried to have it repaired at a local shop but the guy couldn't figure out what type of paint it was so just made it worse. Regretfully, I had to have it scrubbed off and repainted. I went for a satin black, trying to match the 40% powder coat on the BC but didn't quite make it. The shop that did the flyscreen also painted my rad shroud . I now have a pin strip of a rocket on the FS from Purple Harley. I thought I had photo of it but can't find it. I'll look further.
I really like having a flyscreen. I use a 25 inch Clearview for touring and the flyscreen around town. It looks great-well I think it does-and is perfect for local riding, significantly "lightening" the handling.
Check my pix. My billet skull Terminator cover smokes all these examples, IMHO! Soon it will act as an LED illuminated NOS fogger as well! The pix are in my gallery. Two different skulls on two distinct bikes (VTX and R3)
"House of Dracul" pix: On the VTX example you can see the fully functional high intensity lenses in the billet skull eye sockets and mouth. The high beam is in the mouth, also can be used with its nitrous (Once system is armed I switch to high beam and NOS is activated). On the R3 example, three shots total I think, will feature six LEDs in each eye socket when completed. Both of these skulls are heavy billet pieces, not cheapie plastic crap, and will last virtually as long as I don't destroy the bike...which is always a possibility with me
P.S. Never could abide the stock horn cover. Made this mighty steed resemble a common house fly from the front...more so than an Owl methinks
