I'm putting a Scorpio i900 on my '09 Classic tomorrow and was wondering if anyone knows if there's a way to use the stock alarm light in the gauge with an after market alarm?

Also, any tips for a non-technical guy to make things easier would be greatly appreciated. I've posted the same question on the .com site with a link to a good install post, but every little bit helps.

Thanks!

So the tutorial I found on the .com site ends just before he gets to the ignition disable / anti-hijacking install. (The only part that isn't plug & play) Does anyone have a wiring diagram or pics so I know what wires I need to cut in to? Not the sort of thing I want to go with an educated guess for.

Thx

So I've tried going through the wiring diagrams in the owner's manual and Datatool manual and have come to the conclusion that I can't read wiring diagrams.
Does anyone have an install of the ignition disable with pictures? (Just pretend you're helping out a dumb person)

Anyone have a pic so that I can identify the wires I need to isolate? I'd rather not have to go pay the dealer, but I'll do that before guessing.

Thanks

here's the info I got from the Talon alarm website when I was installing my alarm. I still haven't done this but will the next time I have the tank up or off.

Without a doubt, the alarm's harness has a lead of a paired wire for the LED, just run these into spots 10 and 11 of your Triumph harness. With the cap that you remove for placement of the harness we provide in your motorcycle, there are 2 loops of wire. Just use one of those as a donor to configure the harness as below.

10 = Black (ground for LED)
11 = Black with white Stripe (+5V power (pulsed) from alarm to light up indash LED)

Just reviving this old thread to see if anyone has a picture or insight as to which wire to cut for the Scorpio i-900 ignition disable/anti-hijack feature.

I've installed the rest of the alarm. Managed to fit the main module under the left hand cover despite the stupid evap canister placed there. Had to mount it vertically as opposed to horizontally though which means the tilt function does not work. It's more of a toy than anything else but it's been a fun little project. Thanks as always.

Datatool Gone Bad

I've got an 08 R3 Touring that has had the Datatool 4 constantly go into alarm. I took it out and wrapped tape around it and put it in the bottom of toolbox and I can still hear it, amazing. My question is where can I get the harness cap for the harness, so it will start without the alarm until I can get the alarm fixed? Shouldn't the dealer have given that to me when they installed the alarm?
