This is why I have gone the KnN route . I like the Ramair but 2 years on and the foam is disintegrating . £130 every couple of years for Ramair or £230 for 3 KnNs that will last a lifetime . On the maths alone they make sense !
No that would be a pain ! If I remove the sensor from the little KnN vent filter and lay it out between 2 and 3 cylinders all is perfect. It's when I put the little bugger in the filter the problems start ! I will come up with a brilliant plan tomorrow . By the morning , I shall be an AIT expert courtesy of google . Fresh air from the inlet tract should course unhindered over the sensors bulb , so there is the starting point of the brilliant invention that i shall invent tomorrow !
She gonna be sucking on leaves Clint , but a noble sacrifice I think ? Women it seems are very well equipped , I always know where to find battery for the remote , half millimeter wire for LEDs , Vaseline for electrical connectors and just recently , for some reason ? A reasonable amount of ball bearings . Just the right size for ratting with a catapult ! ? ? ?
Does anyone know if these or others will fit under a Touring bearclaw?
The RamAir fits, but the back end of the foam just barely squeezes in between the tank and bearclaw cover at the third cylinder spot.
I do want to go the K&N route and those 2780's look about the best possible fit.
Hey Rick, everything i've ever read on this forum re: K&N is "the bigger, the better' as far as breathing goes. do you run it like that without a claw, or have you cut the claw out? Or do those fit under the claw?
With my RamAir I've cut the claw to expose it to more air.

I'm thinking if I switch to K&N I'll go with the bigger ones since they should have room with the cutout.
I also think I could use a 3/4" or so, hole saw to put a hole in the claw somewhere in the top-front area then install a PCV grommet, slip the AIT sensor thu & cap it with the small filter so it sits right outside the claw in the same line of air with the T/B filters
Whata ya'll think?

I run the bear claw with no modifications. I have seen someone on this forum run the AIT into one of the air filters. 5/8 is the size. The issue there is you need to extend the wires to get to the air filter. I ran the AIT into one of the K&N breather I mentioned above and zip ties it to the fuel rail between filters 1 & 2. works perfectly.
