I used the K&N 62-1340 breather filter and zip tied to the fuel rail between #1 & #2 filters.

Thanks Rick . Both yourself and Tal are using the same positioning without problem so your certainly doing something right . I will try to emulate your methods tomorrow and see how that goes ?

Sadly - I concur.

@Nat67 - Have you built a heat wall twixt filters and the undertank area? - that'll keep the air behind teh big K&Ns cooler.

Those two 6mm holes line up with the mounts for the OEM plenum. The foiled fibreglass is not really necessary - but I have loads of the stuff.
Heat wall eh ? Well i have half a pallet of bricks in the back of my van . I get your thinking tho !

maybe something other than a filter to cover the bulb end??...its just for protection...a cap off a drink bottle with holes or something???...i'm sure you will make something...
I have already dismantled Tayas stainless steel tea strainer giving me a 3 inch diameter of very fine mesh . I'm on it ! Will let you know the results .

sounds to me like the k&n filters are the way to go over the ram air couple folks here said the ram air have come apart
The ram air is just basic air cleaner foam. Like the foam in your lawn mower. It gets old quick and starts to fall apart. The K&Ns are made from layers of a cotton media. I have a K&N air cleaner in everything I own. I have an 83 Suburban that has had the same K&N for at least 10 years. I clean & lube them periodically. they will last forever if you take care of them. Better air flow and filtration that stock or the Ram Air.
