I relocated the coolant tank to under seat when I installed triple k and n filters. My sensor is just ziptied and inside a little filter right in front of the first k and n filter. Are you having problems with the idle after switching from ramair to k and n's?
Yes that's exactly what I have done ! When I first put the pods on , I just laid it out bare between 2 and 3 filters and the idle was perfect . Now I have put the sensor in a filter and fixed it where yours is the idle is all over the shop !

Hey Nath...i wish ide read this b4 we talked this morning but...
I did the exact thing you have done!...Had Ramair and went to triple k&n's.
The good thing is you have that extension. I got a small filter to cover the end of the sensor from a car accessory shop. Its just to protect the bulb on the end. I used zip ties and placed the filter between the 2nd and 3rd k&n filters on that rod there. To me, that was getting the air temp that the filters were sucking in.
It works a treat for me. I have a photo and you can see the small blue filter.

Thanks Tal , was great talking with you ! I have a similar small filter for the sensor , but as the 4010s are so big the sensor won't fit between them . Either behind them where it gets hot or in front of them where it is being hit with fresh air ! More experimentation is required I think ?

Bet you broke the bloody thing...it's called sods law!
Sadly - I concur.

@Nat67 - Have you built a heat wall twixt filters and the undertank area? - that'll keep the air behind teh big K&Ns cooler.

Those two 6mm holes line up with the mounts for the OEM plenum. The foiled fibreglass is not really necessary - but I have loads of the stuff.

Mine just sits under the tank with a small filter for protection, what would the symptoms be if it was broken? Obviously sounds like I need to get it out of there and into cooler air,is it possible to make your own extension loom?

I just ordered an extension from RamAir today.
Cost:
£22.49 GBP
$30.38

That is with shipping to the US. It cost more for shipping, but that's life. I just wanted it for a spare and when I go to K&N's. In that case I can sell the ramair as a complete kit.
Price is £9.99 GBP plus shipping. FYI.

Seems like a reasonable price, close to what the parts might be IF you can find them.

Hardly worth going to the trouble of making an extension at that price , will get one ordered, thanks.

Well having fitted my RX2010 fiters , I'm now having issues with the AIT! I know that some of you guys put them in small KnN filters but I'm wondering if the ambient temperature in one of those filters would affect the sensor and hence the idle ? Also best placement ? I bow to you guys who have ironed out the issues and am eager for suggestions?
I used the K&N 62-1340 breather filter and zip tied to the fuel rail between #1 & #2 filters.

No that would be a pain ! If I remove the sensor from the little KnN vent filter and lay it out between 2 and 3 cylinders all is perfect. It's when I put the little bugger in the filter the problems start ! I will come up with a brilliant plan tomorrow . By the morning , I shall be an AIT expert courtesy of google . Fresh air from the inlet tract should course unhindered over the sensors bulb , so there is the starting point of the brilliant invention that i shall invent tomorrow !
