I just followed this post to figure out what the heck you guys are messing with, now I know and won’t mess with it.

Yep it's hard to upset me. Had a bad temper when I was younger, but I've worked hard to find peace, and won't give it up easily.

Not messing, just experimenting with. The best methods of increasing the air intake is either the K&N filters X 3 or the RamAir module. Horses for courses using either method.

How will sir measure the differences? - Empirical data please!.

Hey Rick, everything i've ever read on this forum re: K&N is "the bigger, the better' as far as breathing goes. do you run it like that without a claw, or have you cut the claw out? Or do those fit under the claw?

With my RamAir I've cut the claw to expose it to more air.

I'm thinking if I switch to K&N I'll go with the bigger ones since they should have room with the cutout.
I also think I could use a 3/4" or so, hole saw to put a hole in the claw somewhere in the top-front area then install a PCV grommet, slip the AIT sensor thu & cap it with the small filter so it sits right outside the claw in the same line of air with the T/B filters

I experimented every which way with that little AIT . Inside , outside and up side down ! Some methods worked better than others but all had drawbacks when the engine was either cold or hot . Tal and Ricks positioning is definitely the best , however I still had problems when the engine was hot . By opening the end of the little filter and fitting the fine gauze , the sensor can now keep a few degrees cooler . Starting from hot or cold is instant and idle is an absolute constant no matter what the temp !

sounds to me like the k&n filters are the way to go over the ram air couple folks here said the ram air have come apart
