Adjusting speedo, due to diff ratio change

Bear in mind that altering the speedo reading also messes with the ODO reading. If you've changed the DIFF - I'd try and use a different speedo all together (maybe GPS!)
Did you fit 2015 wiring or is it still a pre-2010 ECU?
I didn't do that change so I don't have a clue about it.

Looks like a pre 2010 ECU in the pics in the other thread

Does it make much difference?
If you have the OLD ECU you can simply fit a new set of generic instruments and set them up for the current mechanics.
If it is a Post 2010 CANBUS ECU then you have to retain the OEM speedo as without it the bike will not start.

If it were me. I would give thought to the complete instrument change. Whilst I appreciate the original aesthetics may be pretty nifty - the irritation of the ODO being off would annoy me.
How much overall difference in ratios - including the wheel diameter change?

I dont know what the original ratio on bike diff, but the rigid axel was 2.94:1 and my IRS is 2.9:1 on 18" 275R 35 tyres

i will try to explain
my speedo from factory was 10% high (others say 5%) and odo was correct so at 100 miles per hour the speedo reads 90. so when i put a taller tire on
it went to 5% so it works for me 5% on speedo and 5% on odo.
when i corrected speedos i would have a 2 mile track and figure out a % it was off an then correct that percentage.
haven't got a clue how to do with tuneecu.

I have some information the triumph diff ratio is 2.846:1 Tyre 240/R16 50 outside circumference 79.9"
mine diff ration is 2.9:1 Tyre 275/R18 35 outside circumference 80.3

Difference mines reading 1.4% fast, is that correct?

Just curious, what are you asking is correct ?

Your speedometer indicates what it does.

Your GPS (or police radar/laser) gives some indication against standard.

That is really the only difference that matters.
