ABS light on

2011 Roadster ABS light is on. I sure would appreciate any suggested directions I could look. No real brake symptoms other than the rear brake is a bit mushy / weak but I have not yet changed the fluid. Bike has 31,000 miles. Rear pads have about 4,000 miles on them and are fine. Fronts are fine. Fluid levels are fine and ABS fuses are good.

And does anyone know how to obtain a Factory Roadster manual? I believe the one I have is 2007 and pre-roadster and ABS.

Sorry I cannot help you Jim but I do know there is separate software to take care of the ABS. I am sure someone like @1olbull that know more about the ABS on the beast.

I had this problem when my bike was still under warranty. Triumph couldn't find anything wrong, just wriggled some wires and pulled a few plugs apart and put them back together again. I'd been doing a lot of miles in the rain and the light eventually went out on its own. I just put it down to a bit of moisture somewhere. When the light was on the ABS wasn't working. A quick stab on the back brake and I worked that out.

I have the "Brake Tool'which can recync the ECU after bleeding.

Thanks. Fuses are good. Have not bled the brakes yet. Sure would like to have a manual which covers the few differences of the Roadster.
I was thinking that I may have disturbed wiring when I routed some new runs from aux. fuse box to front forks. So I have been panning to
change the fuel filter and will tomorrow and have a look at the ABS wiring. After that I guess I'll change the fluids. Wonder what the Brake Tool
is? I suppose I could change the fluid and ride it to the dealer sans ABS to have them reset. Any idea where I could get a diagram of the ABS
system? Thanks again.

hi there this happened on my old 11 roadster , more often when i had been doing some heavy braking and the tech said it was due to the sensor on the back wheel wearing slightly which in turn opened the gap up between sensor and the ABS disc ( slotted alloy looking thing) .The sensor has a washer under it from the factory to set up the appropriate gap all the tech did was remove this washer and re-assemble and the problem never reared it's ugly head again.

I had a similar problem on my "X" the right rear heat shield was rubbing the insulation off the abs sensor cable, and broke completly through allowing some shorts to develop. The area is rather difficult to see, and alas it was fixed so i cannot post pictures.
