zx14, zx10r, zx7r and hopefully a rocket III soon :)
Hey everyone,
I'm new to the rocket iii following. I've been a sport bike guy for about 9 years now and am giving the rocket iii serious consideration. I'm currently saddled up on a fleet of ninjas. Kawis have been mostly all I've owned in my time riding but as the seasons go by I slow down and get a little sorer a little more and more each year.
So I'm looking to get myself something a little more comfy once my 1000 and I part ways. I still want the go power still tho, which lands me on a rocket iii.
I'm not sure how long it will take me to get one as I am waiting for departure of my 1000, but I'm considering newer bikes or just buying new from the dealer. Any insight on tasteful mods such as exhaust etc are appreciated. Also any promotions going on or leverage I can use when buying is also welcome!
Thanks for reading and be safe!

Welcome to the forum. I think you will enjoy an R3. Lots of power on tap. Off the line she is a beast. Once she's rolling it won't keep up with a liter bike...

unless you go see Carpenter Racing. :D

I'm not really too interested in top speed, tho I'm sure if someone wants, they can still wring out an Riii... it's the low end grunt that I really like. I've always been into.the bigger sport bikes for the torque, just twist it a little and the bike does the work for you :)

It's got tons of torque for sure, and comfortable. You picked the right bike. Off the line she will stretch your arms out.

Welcome to the group. You'll find her to have tons of torque and more in reserve! Won't be able to get you're knee on the ground, but she's pretty nimble in the twisties all the same, and you can ride comfortably for hours!!

My dad is a long-time Kawasaki owner and high HP sportbike enthusiast. He retired a couple years back, around when I bought my R3 Roadster. He has NEVER been a fan of cruisers, but he really loves my bike. Seems like power cruisers are perfect for sport bike lovers who are looking for a more comfortable ride, and in my not so humble opinion the R3 is the unchallenged king of power cruisers. If you love torque you need look no further.

Welcome to the forum and best of luck finding the perfect steed!

I was in the same boat as you eleven years ago.
Impossible to get the same performance (power & handling) from a cruiser as provided by a large Ninja.
After owning a couple cruisers, I feel the Roadster (with appropriate mods) is the best alternative I have found so far.
If I had longer legs, I would try an adventure motor such as the KTM 1190 Adventure R.

Reckon I agree with TC!
Find a way to keep the Ninja - that would be a great motor combo, IMHO!
