A question about TFC and corrosion on fork leg bolts ?

When I look at picture BOLT2 I see the same white residue as on the Bolt also all around in the black area - so I also tend to "cleaning".

And by the way: you hopefully do not use "0 PH" - or do you clean your bike with pure hydrochloric acid? The best would be around 7 (pure, demineralized water).

I expect too much calcareous water and a bad drying - because otherwise the other bolts would have this problem, too. BOLT3 is the best example.
 
It is true that the water of the city is more or less calcareous. If I rode when it is raining, wash it off as soon as possible and leave the bike in the rain for a 2nd rinse. (it replaces demineralized water Then micro fiber drying.
For protection and corrosion the WD 40 works well too
 
The paint and chrome on my R3T are the weakest of any bike I've ever seen. When mine was one year old, the paint and chrome on my 15 year old Harley looked better.
 
A guy that has painted several bikes for me told me the reason Triumph's paint is so soft is because of European regulations, that they have to use water based paint. I can't verify this, but he's a very good painter, seems to know his stuff.
