Six days before Christmas I was finally able to buy and bring home the Rocket 3 GT I’d been coveting for nearly a year.
A year ago my local Triumph dealer was running rental promotions on some of their bikes and so for $50 I took a Rocket 3 GT for a 24 hour demo. I put 350 miles on it before I had to give it back. The next time I went in, it was gone. They had a customers Rocket in the back that had a heater fall onto it so my beautiful crimson Rocket had been selected to be parted out to repair the bike.
At the beginning of December the wife and I finally agreed that the timing was right for me to bring a Rocket home. Knowing the crimson was gone, I had settled on a black Rocket 3 GT. Some health concerns delayed me going in for a couple weeks to sign the paperwork and make it all final. Finally, on December 20th, I was able to get down to the dealership. The weather was beautiful for the PNW, a perfect day to ride home.
And there she was, all clean and ready to come home. As it turns out, they were able to repair their customers bike without needing the donor bike. And so, the literal day before, they had just out her back out on the floor. I had everything wrapped up within an hour and off home I went.
