There is a list of "check/adjust" items. It just gives the tech the opportunity to go over the bike to make sure nothing is loose and things are properly adjusted.

Thanks... I found my little book that lists the items to do. I will do it myself. The book says to use 10-40 motorcycle oil. Any brand recomendations?

I use Mobil 1 4T 5W30

I prefer thinner oil that lubricates the upper end quicker on start-ups.

I chump for the Royal Purople max cycle 10 40. It's gone up from 12.00 a quart to 17.99. Still beats that $300.00 plus oil change. I can assure you that is all they did. If you do it yourself, you need to check all of the bolts you can reach. Some tend to vibrate loose.

service

i think i paid $380 for the standard service here in oz at my dealer and i got my 16000k service not long ago wich is the valve clearence one and it was $720 wich i feel is absolutly rediculous and as u might notice our dollar is about even with the US dollar at the moment i feel we here in oz are just getting robbed for everything probably has alot to do with our tax system i would imagin . our government is one step away from just following u around and going through your wallet whenever they like bastards:mad:

same here

Same with Canada, its all B.S
Our dollar is now the same value (at par) with the U.S dollar but our prices for everything are much higher.
I order a lot of stuff online now from the U.S its cheaper.
A good example is a new Roadster here in Canada is $16,999
but the exact same one across the border is $13999.
