If I really want to I can always get it ceramic coated (black) for about $175
Where does one find a ceramic coating shop these days?
I used to have a BMW with a shiny, black ceramic coated Luftmeister exhaust system. I really loved the way it looked, but could never find a shop that could duplicate that coating. If you know of a place that does this, please post it to the list.
I am having second thoughts on my exhaust; the tone is not really what I was looking for. I have been talking to the owner of a really cool vintage motorcycle shop and he has me talked into going Supertrap. I listened to a couple of bikes he had and liked the way they sounded. I also highly recommended ceramic coating the manifold and pipe which I think I am going to spring for (should give me more HP and will look cool too). I want to get all my intake/exhaust upgrades done before I get the beast dyno tuned (by Twinline motorcycles). My project is not a total loss as I will be reusing the offset that I had fabricated. I will be painting the radiator trim black; I think more black and less chrome will be a good look.

Coincidentally, my R3 had dual Supertrapp mufflers on it when I bought it from the previous owner. They were painted flat black and looked awful. Since they are stainless steel, I tried to get a local shop to give me a price on polishing, but they obviously were not interested, so I bought a new set of Jardines. They sound just as good as the Supertrapps, if not better. But if you like black, why not have whatever you decide to use as an exhaust system ceramic coated? I would have done that to my 'Trapps had I known it was possible, and it would have saved me about $800.
So I take it you liked the way the Supertraps sounded. I would just be doing a single. I was interested in the Jardines; I was worried they might be too loud (setting off car alarms and such). I have also been a little worried about the "glass pack" and need regular repacking.

Yeah, Jardines ARE loud...probably louder than the dual Supertrapps. Not sure how long the Jardines will go without a repack, but you can do a search here and find some info on that. I would tell you about my personal experience with the Jardines, but I only just installed them.
