Just heard from the dealer. Triumph has approved the warranty work. The parts should be in Tuesday and will hopefully be fixed by Wednesday.

That's exactly how it should be.you should be back on the bike soon ,if you ride like a grandpaw in the future just leave the crack alone and you should be fine

Your dealing with Triumph just reminded me of dealing with my dad when I was 16 years old.

My first car was a 66 mustang. Anytime it broke down I got a lecture on hot rodding and speed shifting. Hell I could burn out a headlight and it was because of hot rodding and speed shifting.

For the record, I have hot rodded and speed shifted everything I've ever owned.

Smart man, your dad... I wanted to buy my uncle's 65 mustang with a '67 gt350 engine in it. Uncle was running a tunnelram with dual 650 spreadbores atop it. He had to put a wheelie bar outback when he ran slicks to keep from flipping it. It ran 10s in the quarter on pump gas. He said he couldn't sell it to me becasue he loved me. His thought was a 16 year old kid would kill himslef in a car like that. He was a smart man too...

Mine was a fairly stock 289 4V with a 4 speed. Back in those days you could still easily find muscle car parts. I found a camshaft that came from a Shelby 306 HP 289 engine. I installed in one day while my dad was at work. He came home just as I was returning from my test drive. **** it ran good. Dad took it for a drive and told me that the car was not to be driven again until the stock cam was back in it.

It's working out, but.way too slow. That will be 29 days in the shop. I missed out on some good riding days, especially Mardi Gras weekend. It will also put me late getting to Houston Wednesday, to meet up with R3Tex and Nolton to head to Galveston.

Just ride the redeye Steel, drink lots of water and eat good protein to help stay awake. Besides, from the bayou to Houston on a Rocket should only take an hour...

Biggest issue is that the dealer is 90 miles away... in the wrong direction.

Dealer calls Tuesday telling me he has the parts and the bike will be ready Wednesday morning. I drive almost all the way there before he calls to let me know one part didn't show up.
