06 Triple K&N's, TORS 141/145 Rw ALL BEEF NO PORK
I currently have map 20226 loaded on the bike. It also has a power commader3 on it. The previous owner had all the goodies on it and had it tuned. I was looking at putting 20050 map into it. or should I go a different route with the power commander. Its an 06, it has triple K&N's, TORS with cat delete, the pc3 with o2 bypass. and Gi-pro-atre. Also do I need to unhook the gi-pro will it cause ill effects with the tune? thanks for your advice.

I changed my tune from 20226 to 20050. I have a Dobeck Performance AFR Plus installed. (Better than a PC3 or PCV) With the tune change I got a nice little power boost. Bike runs great. Others will chime in soon.

The best tuning can be achieved if you find someone who can tune with tune boy or the other software aid involving the ecu. its really simple as it boils down to having more finite control over areas in the ECU map. All these add-ons PCIII, PCV, Dobek alow for a broader spectrum change depending on how much finite control it has over the rpm segements. The ECU uses F and L tables and newer ones have timing control on both these tables. Compare PCII to PCV and you will find the rpm bands are finer on the PCV. PCV also has a bunch of goodies you can ge to easier the then PCIII after all the PCV is the PCIII and complete multi port hub system rolled up into one. The PCV is also starting to come out with timing adjustments where the others have no control. That being said what is really important is what your tuner can tune with. Myself I use tune boy tune edit and a air fuel recording system. No other attachements that might intercept the signal from the ECU and alter it. Except for the Vampire unit in case I get into some bad fuel or fuel that is not quite up to the rated octane. I have always used the 20050 map Until I went to the high rpm maps they are the 20222 format mine has been highly modified for the horse power application I am running.

OK - There is more in the "hex" files than you can see or edit. iirc there was an informed post a couple of years back that suggested one should always have the NEWEST BASE OEM MAP in and modify the VISIBLE tables accordingly. i.e If you have 20050 - install 202** and alter the tables. A cursory look by Mr Triumph would suggest I have the Triumph TORS map 20228.

The base map is - but it's NOT the TORS map. I know because I've altered it - following advice & pointers from Mr Tripp and Hans. It's possible your 20226 MAP is in fact altered.

And no I don't remember why I used the TORS map - think I found a tiny difference in ignition tables - or maybe I dreamed it. Wayne probably told me to.

Unless you want to remove goodies - leave it as it is!

Love to see a head to head - same bike - same dyno - same Dyno-God. TuneECU vs Dynojet vs Dobeck.
Saying it's better requires proof. Saying you prefer it - ah now that is something nobody can object to.

When I did my High rpm map I took a 9000 rpm NA map and converted it from the 8000 rpm map I had been running. Of course I had to mathemetically extrapolated the last 1000 rpms bands to start with and then adjusted as I got the bike running. Same for the timing since I started with 116 octane fuel to get a hold of detonation before it lifted the head. All in all it worked out fine. If I had a standard bike I would most likely start with the TORS map as a base map and then tune from there. I am not sure I would go the PC unit path I would much rather pack my bike to Minnisota or Alabama and have it tuned by someone who knows tune boy. the less eclectronics added to the system the better it will function plus when you tune with the map there is just more finite control.

The guy I got it from had the PCIII on it. Looking at the 20226 map on the computer vrs the one I read on the bike they look identical. I am not opposed to taking the PCIII off and just tuning with tune ecu. I will be the one tuning it. I enjoy fiddling with efi and computers. In cars ive done a few efi swaps i understand the efi system.

The Harley shop just doesnt understand tuning yet they just got a Dyno last week, plus they speak Harley not triumph. They are holding a little Dyno shoot-out competition, I'll get my baseline there, along with embarrass alot of local guys.

Later ill pay them for a few hours of Dyno time with a wideband. I just didn't know which one was a better base map to start with.

I have a 2008 classic that was stock I just did bypass and TOR off a 2005 bike I was told to try 20050 and it ok but not perfect as I haven't done anything else to motor. so i'm looking for a better tune to use I lost the quick snappy take offs on the line, I lost gas mileage, I got more torque and HP about 3k RPMS in all gears. so any other tune to try ?

besides the 20226 oem map I couldnt tell you knbaudio. I do have some seat time on the dyno tommarrow, im gonna run it as is, then unhook the power commander and put in the 20050DynoFinalMap_WithPods_And_IgnRetard map in it and run it and see what differance it makes.

If you have the dyno time You should send me email and I will send you a map with a higher rev limiter then your map has. If all else fail it will not cut fuel until you are out of map rpm's one of the problem of revs is the map cut fuel early making the higher rpms usless. Oh and the speed limiter will be totlaly out of your way All I need to konw is whether your running tune boy or not
