2021 Rocket 3R
Good afternoon everybody!

I’ve had my rocket 3 for about 7-8 months now and lately intermittently it will blow the 7.5A battery fuse when I turn the bike off. I say intermittent as the bike can go 3 days of constant use before blowing it or at one time it blew it 3 times in one day.
It always seems to happen when I turn the engine off while the display is still powered. I’ll know the fuse has blown as once I turn the engine off I’ll then lock the handle bars and it doesn’t respond. Has anyone gone through this and have any idea?
Side note I changed the battery about 2 weeks ago as it was dying and the fuse issue has been ongoing now for about 2 months.

Thank you,
Pablo Gonzalez

Could there be some water (or condensation build up) inside the on/off switch?

Might be worth spraying something like WD40 into the gaps around the switches???
Better still... open up the switch housing and apply some dielectric grease around the contacts (if they are visible).

There is a recall. The battery fuse has been upgraded to 10 amp. You could take it in or just replace it yourself. I never had mine blow before, but obviously it's an issue. Mine was replaced when they did the recall on the rear brake master cylinder.

Hey guys so here’s an update! Thank you for the fuse recall mention! I did call the dealer and set up an appointment for that + the rear brake cylinder recall. They did put in a 10amp and when I left the dealer I went to a gas station about 1 mile down the road and started filling up. A guy came up to me asking if he can hear the bike and it failed to start again due to the now blown 10 amp fuse lol. Thought that was funny.
I put another one in and it hasn’t blown again until yesterday. It’s quite random when it decided to blow. My bike is an early 2021.

Keep track of the number of fuses it blows and the cost of fuses it probably going to be a record for a long long time.

Have you done any mods to the bike involving wiring (lights, camera, horn, etc)?
Just a tail tidy with some aftermarket turn signals but that was about a month ago. I purchased this bike 10-11 months ago and the battery fuse started blowing up 2 months in. Other than that it’s a fully stock bike!

Electronic contact cleaner, WD40 will leave an oily film, the last thing you want on a switch contact.

Ok. Yes. That's a fair comment.
I was thinking that you can chase out any water/moisture using a squirt of WD (or something similar), but I concur that it would be a better job to use an electrical contact cleaner.
