2020 Rocket engine guard heat.

You are right, I already suggested that mid August.
I did not remove any of these covers to try as follows.
Why not include washer between the exhaust pipe and the cover if the screw allow it ? 1/16" thickness ?
Any airflow between cover and exhaust should work to decrease temperature of the cover.

I did not do it already, as I try to avoid touching the right side of the engine with my leg. It will be in my to do list in winter... I will change the screw (longer one) to add two or three washers.

It may definitely add something to the confort; saying this, I don't know how good or bad it will look with a distance, but very free to test.

Interesting topic, with some saying it is an amazing solution, and others saying it is a waste of time. Must be some variable, maybe the material used? Either way, living in Florida, I'm giving it a try, can't hurt. I did notice when removing the covers, that it seems that the mounts into the pipes have some gaps. Maybe there is another internal pipe? Or maybe a lot of heat is coming out of those gaps?

Heat will keep on coming, but if we can avoid a little bit
Gaps I was referring to
I assumed that when we add inside a shield, it will touch the exhaust and again heat will be transferred direct to the guard. So I am hoping if we maintain the distance and in the meantime has the shield inside, we can avoid our leg burn touching the shield. This is 2500 cc, there will always be heat. .

I remember while riding my KTM990Adv, the guard on the exhaust didn't get that hot, but the bolt which was fixing the guard to the exhaust was like a lava spot and most of my trousers had a hole durong that period

Google searching Kevlar washers

Sadly, I must report that my experience fell on the "no-difference" side. I going to try and attack from the other side.

I have test ridden the GT; but bought the R, haven't ridden the R. I was thinking that the difference at the location of the pegs maybe help me.
