Heat will keep on coming, but if we can avoid a little bit
I assumed that when we add inside a shield, it will touch the exhaust and again heat will be transferred direct to the guard. So I am hoping if we maintain the distance and in the meantime has the shield inside, we can avoid our leg burn touching the shield. This is 2500 cc, there will always be heat.

I remember while riding my KTM990Adv, the guard on the exhaust didn't get that hot, but the bolt which was fixing the guard to the exhaust was like a lava spot and most of my trousers had a hole durong that period
