Tal, looks like we kiwis are lucky to get them quite early and I got my R this week and just got back from the first decent ride on it around Coromandel versus the commute to work on Friday not that I want it for a commuter. After riding sports bikes for years and my previous bike being a Norton my backside appreciates the comfort and refined ride of the R3. Took it pretty gently as my head was telling me it’s a big piece of gear to be on, but after a while that thought was forgotten and started to attack the corners with a bit more speed. I was surprised with how well balanced and settled it was in the corners and towards the end of the ride didn’t think I was on a 300 kilo bike. The pick up on acceleration i found really impressive. The back brake which is something quite foreign to me as most bikes I have ridden are pretty ineffectual was very apparent and felt strong with mild pressure and the front brake alone was excellent in scrubbing speed and pulled it up easily. Mindful I am still running it in so not at high rpm found engine braking somewhat mild however not really ridden this type of bike before. The bike must have some presence on the road as cars don’t like being followed for too long as often found they let me pass. The overall ride definitely was very comfortable and great coming off a bike and not feeling knackered. For me when I saw it released the look of it made me want it and now after a good ride on it know I made a good choice and hope I can keep my license for some time longer as the way it can accelerate so effortlessly can see a need for a lot of self control. My last Triumph was a Street Triple and it feels good to be back on a Triumph just a tad bigger one!

Tal he said he was trying to take it easy on his new ride and you want him to have to get a new set of tires.:roll::roll: @Flyingkiwi paul bryant has tire statues throughout his yard, it’s a setup, this happens just from going to pub for a refresher after welding all day:eek::eek:
