Wondering if this has happened to anyone else.
This issue has been ongoing for almost 2 years. Triumph dealer has tried various things but has given up. Triumph Australia have now been out to the dealer, run some tests, and declared that it is "normal" and there is no issue.
Everything has been put back to stock - original tune, orginal pipe, as demanded by Triumph. No difference to behaviour.

When the bike is cold, it won't start first go. Starter motor cranks over, but it seems to not be getting fuel. It usually starts on 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th go, depending how cold it is.
It was great for 2 years, then this just started happening one day, and has been the same ever since.

I'm at my wits end.
I have completely fallen out of love with the bike, and Triumph Australia are on my **** list.

Does your Rocket always start first go from cold?

2020 3R. Never missed a start.
I'd be way upset with Triumph too. It's obviously not normal and it's wrong of them to tell you that it is.
I'm sure that everything has been checked such as compression, fuel/air filters, plugs, etc. I'd be astounded if there weren't errors logged, if as you say it is a recurring thing.
Don't take their brush offs. Keep pushing them and even look into "Lemon" laws.

That is exactly what my 1st gen 06 does. No idea why, tried asking, best guess I got here was relays and grounding, both I have fixed properly, no dice.

Hey I had this issue after my first service. Would always hesitate on start when cold in the morning. Dealer said "normal" I ran some Techron through the tank and it never happened again. So now I make a habit of it after every winter storage.

Its Anecdotal and I do not have clear evidence for you but I know it worked for me to cure it for good.

I'm curious, are you running premium fuel? I'd been defaulting to high octane fuel when I first got my bike and it started developing a similar issue where it wouldn't start on the first crank. This bike doesn't require high octane and it's actually more difficult to ignite. When I switched to regular (or even mid octane) the issue disappeared entirely.

yes, never had issues, even after winter storage.

Mine starts 0% of the time on the first attempt if it's sat for over 12 hours, and 100% of the time on the second attempt. Fuel octane, use of battery tender, ambient temperatures, and mileage have no zero impact on this. Checked electrical connections as well. Same as with yours, it just started one day and has become routine.

At least my Tiger 1200 starts sometimes on the first attempt.

i will try to help
need feed back

I run 95 octane, which is the cheaper “premium” we have in Oz. Never use 98 unless it is the only premium option.
91 octane here generally has ethanol so avoided.
