Acknowledged Ken - that's why I suggested Nyngan in the first place. The park is on the other side of the river and generally a no go zone for the locals. Its also close enough to town for supplies whereas Bourke has an appropriate spot but its 10k north of the town. Bourke itself is pretty well a no go zone after dark despite some effort by the local chamber of commerce ..... there are still wire grates over most shop windows and an 8 foot fence around the supermarket. I hope you were just throwing it out there when you mentioned Bre and Walgett ..... lovely places in daylight but I'm not taking a Rocket there. Cobar isn't too bad, good pubs, great bakery, lots of Miners at the moment - hard workin hard drinken & noisey.

I'm happy anywhere there is a comfy seat, view of a rocket 3 and cheap drinks ..... but RDU isn't happening in my shed
Feel free to stop at Lucknow on the way though.

I hope I was not being negative when I mentioned these towns just have some bad experiences out there and always had my dog with me if it looked like any overnight stops ,I would not like any of our mates falling victim to the "local" inhabitants not the places to go for a nice stroll after dark, even the well armed Police patrol en masse
This is Tyson my old mate and Guard dog I picked him up as a pup at a truck stop between Walgett and Lightning Ridge mangy and starving a lot of opal miners have simular dogs to guard their claims and had him for 10 years never needed to worry when he was with me that's a 4 foot fence he is leaning on

Why would you want to go and stay in these places . It sounds like trouble will be found too easy .

Jeessus, don't be such a wuss! It's called travelling. Stir up the local indigenous population anywhere and yes you will suffer, be respectful and book accommodation in a suitable location as mentioned and leave your One Nation flags behind at home and you'll be fine.

Good luck , you can't negotiate with a drunk aboriginal let alone a group . My ex wife was part Aboriginal and we use to travel all through that area visting relations . Some good ones and some bad ones . Be careful at night .

MAte there's a lot more sook than Glock going on there! Seamus is the little one with the chip on his shoulder who starts trouble...and Bella the red one finishes it for him.
