2015 / 2016 Rocket III recall

Oh Dear I thought I would use that Vin check link and so I just did put my Vin in the website and Oh Noooo I have a outstanding recall on a possibly faulty Side Stand bolt rang Triumph Australia to confirm it, it appears the Qld dealer (no longer a Triumph dealer) that sold the bike to the previous owner had ignored it and that I should contact my nearest dealer to organise it at no cost to me, So I rang Nowra Triumph Whom I bought my Rocket off and told them, the lovely Helen said she would have to check to make sure the part is available (in stock) ..... rang me back ten minutes later and said "parts on its way when do you want to come in" so next week Tuesday Ann and I are going up to Nowra to get it done, can't complain about the service from Nowra Motor Cycles, Nowra NSW

Also A Big Thank You to @TheWhingnut for putting up this thread you have possibly saved me from having the sidestand failing on me

Perhaps this shall be of some help in understanding the VIN# codes . . .

That is just for the US and Canada VIN numbers which have a check digit and a couple of other codes or versions of codes not used elsewhere.

UK, Europe use a different but the same system and Australia slightly different but very similar to UK/Europe system.

Which may explain @Tal 's issue.

put my vin in there and goes "confirm bike"...wtf?

As covered elsewhere:

the 10th # being the model year so the bike is 2005 and more the likely it is a standard.

I had the same issue. I mistakenly typed in the letter "O" instead of the number "0". Note the diff. Fixed now.

No recalls for me also. 2012 Roadster.
