I got one!!!

Hello to all you R3T owners and R3 owners, I got my new R3T at the end of May. I got it from Baxter Cycle in Marne,Iowa. I call it my O.M.G. bike, because that is what you say when you twist the GO grip. All in all it is a wonderful piece of machinery. Heres to all you R3 owners.

Relay upgrade?
Please explain.
It bypasses the ignition switch, works fantastic and makes the lights bright white. The guy making them is in Japan, I can't remember the website. Suggest you use search for finding it.
Here it is Link Removed
I have had an ignition switch failure and have this kit now, I love the difference in visability.

The same Gus

Hello Again, Yes it is the same Gus, he's a good one. Gus just completed the 500 mi. service on my bike. Hence the suggestion on this forum "Ride it like you stole it."

Cool Thanks.
I wasn't too happy with the head light the first time I road it at night. I blamed it on my age. I am going to give this a try. Thanks again.

On a side note. Update on my new ride. Awesome !! I enjoy it so much. The only problem is riding with a hard on all the time.
Next Monday 3 buddies and myself are leaving CT with no destination in mind. We are just going to ride for 7 days. Maybe Canada, maybe Nova Scotia. Who knows.
All 3 on Triumphs ! One America, one Speedmaster and My R3T.

Riding with wood works out better for me. Otherwise, I have to stuff it in my sock and that gets a bit warm after awhile. Of course, that's better than the certain road rash it would get from dragging if I didn't. ;)

Congrats on the new Touring.

41-45 mpg ? How do you manage that ? I can't seem to get better than 32-34.
Enjoy the ride !

The answer is probably in the speed as he mentioned 60-70 mph. At motorsickle speeds of 85-90 I get about 33 mpg, at 100 it goes down to 30, and 110-120 closer to 25, so it is all relative. The more twist in the wrist, the less green in the pocket, but it does make for a bigger smile. With over 55,000 miles now, my bike has drunk alot, and I still love climbing aboard that Rocket.
