For Sale 2007 Rocket III with Carpenter Engine + Many Extras

I know that what you posted wasn't necessarily intentional bashing, bcskier, but, please tell me, when you advertised your HD for sale did anyone else either take out a counter-ad to say that they didn't agree with your pricing or post a comment online questioning your valuation methodology?

As for the other modded bike that was for sale, maybe it was not the bike I was thinking of, but what is to be gained by your informing others that you've seen a better deal or lower price. You're clearly not in the marketplace for another R3 and nelsonto is clearly not engaged in fraud. Glad you got a great deal, but how or why does that make it OK to step on someone else's legitimate effort to sell his motorcycle?

What I see with this type of attitude/behavior is that certain folks (some maliciously-some innocently) seem to want to ensure that others who are trying honestly to sell their motorcycles will get absolute rock bottom prices for them. How does that help or best serve a community such as this other than topinsure that we all get the lowest prices possible if and when we attempt to sell our bikes here?
I guess sooner or later you and I would agree on something. You are right on on this. Good to see you are being less confrontational while still making your point. I wouldn't hesitate in buying that bike for 13K if I were not motorcycle poor right now.

It's not the first time we've agreed, STRIPES, and I'm fairly certain or hopeful, anyway, that it will not be the last!

I don't mind anyone posting their opinions,. Bubba, and that's why, just like you, I post my own, just as well. For the record, in my view, your attitude and stated opinion here stink.

For guys like Tod (nelsonto), the biggest risk they take by posting their classifieds here is that they get unhelpful potshots from wiseguys that either don't understand the difference between right and wrong, don't have the common sense or courtesy to keep some of their comments in the form of private messages or they really don't give a damm about the consequences of whatever they may choose to post up.

It's one thing if you know for a fact that someone's ad attempts to take advantage of or deceive the readership here, it's another thing entirely to supply negative feedback, solicited or otherwise, that hinders the possibility for a sale to occur.

The only correct thing we seem to agree upon, bcskier, is that the marketplace will ultimately sort it all out.

You obviously don't care for my opinion so there are two things -I don't care for yours either. Nelsonto was asking for input from the get-go. I offered to buy the Beetle bags months ago. He declined. So "Bubba" is name calling in my book -which you stooped to. I did not reply to this thread to upset anyone. I'll be sure to check with you first before I offer my opinion in the future (since your opinion is so much better and you understand the difference between right and wrong and obviously have so much more common sense than I do...) Suffice it to say -NOT! Good luck to Nelsonto in selling his bike. If he changes his mind on selling me the Beetle Bags he can contact me directly. As for now, I am "unfollowing" this post

TriumPhil, Thank you for jumping in and bringing some sanity to this thread. I appreciate your thoughts and support as I go through this process of selling the bike. I know others will share their opinions and that's Ok. The hard thing is when some comment turns off a potential buyer that may never even participate in this forum but are more of a casual reader. If someone states that this bike can be bought much cheaper somewhere else then I don't even get a chance to talk with this person. Why not just let that be between me and a buyer?

I think the price is right. would love to have that bike. it just takes the special person that has the cash to spend. good luck.
