2005 vs 2006 hp & torque

Anyone no if there is a difference or reduction in horsepower

and or torque in the 06 model vs 05? I heard 7 horsepower.

I hope they are wrong about that. Anyone know for sure?

I have an 06 and planning some mods any suggestions?

The '06 bikes are going to be quite a bit slower.











/actually I have no idea. Just stoking the flames a bit.
 
Renton, do you have any specifics? I have an 06 and cat bypass............anything I should look for/know?

as Scotsmum says , Ditch the rear shocks and fit with some better quality aftermarket shocks , it gives a hell of difference in handling and comfort . :lol:

Dont think you will see any in classifieds though as you would not want to go back to standard afterwards .
 
Ya'll didn't really answer the man's question.

Yes, the 06's will be a little power reduced as compared to the U.S. empty catbox 05's, but for California and the rest of the world there isn't any difference as they all have the full catbox.

The real question is if you're gonna notice the reduction. Probably not. The Rocket will still feel **** fast if you're a new owner, so look at it this way... You'll just gain that much more with the before mentioned mods AND really notice the difference.

In Europe these would be no difference, all stock-bikes have full litter box

Note: In Germany and France 142 HP is illegal so the stock bikes there are tuned down to +_ 100HP.

I got a cat-bypass and TOR mufflers, really a must ( or equivalent system)
 
Hey, thanks for the big response. I took everyones advise and

went with the cat bypass and tor exhaust. Bike is in the shop

as I write this. The one thing I didn't do was the air filter, I'm

interested in the triple k&n setup. Is this a custom job or is there

an item #. I talked to someone at k&n and they were not familiar

with the system. Thanks again everyone you all have been alot

of help.

K&N have improved airflow on 2204 filter out soon.
And are working on cranked triple
under bearclaw filters, testing them on Mikev bike.
They will not confirm this till ready for sale.
Mikev will give us the lowdown as & when there is news.
