You should try a ZX14 sometime. Sorry guys, but it will smoke my Rocket. I don't know what a stock Rocket does in the quarter mile, I would guess 13's? The ZX I understand can break into the 9's. That is why I kept both bikes, two different rides.
Yup, 2 different beasts for 2 different riding styles, you will find a guy or 2 here that will tell you that there is no life after the Rocket but most of us have more than one bike and we ride each bike the way it was meant to be ridden, we dont try to make a rocket out of a busa or a busa out of a rebel,
I always felt as long as you ride a bike, great. It doesn't matter what. Did you know how a scooter and a fat women are alike? They are both fun to ride on but you don't want your friends to see you.
I've been slack at welcoming you ....welcome. the "05 in red with silver motor is the way to go. Sure there was stuff that went wrong on a few .... most of the owners came here to find out how to fix them. Mine (touch wood) has had none of the big faults. Just ride it and if you hear "big" noises .... STOP. There are a few engine noises that can make you a bit paranoid but a Ramair and decent exhaust will cover up all the wirrrres and clicks that can play with your mind.
I ride my '05 in some pretty empty parts of Australia in total confidence (that my bones will be found) HAVE FUN

Thanks for the welcome and the feedback. I think you just have to accept that the transmission is not the Moto GP precision you find in sport bikes and realize it is closer to a tractor. I just cruise and enjoy.
