$2000,00 for Beetle Bags? WTF?

Well....

...I did the unthinkable.

I just ordered a set of them. The two toned Corbin bags

I.... Just.... Got..... To.... Have..... Them......

Because they really look nice on the Rocket, and I just can't find a hard or soft saddlebag that I like with the Rocket. :(

Oh well, it's only money. I'll just go print some more

Hi all,

OK, I fitted the Rivco passenger floorboards and relocation arms and took 'her indoors' for a ride (on the bike).
She gives them a BIG two thumbs up. She also noted how much the Leatherlyke bags I recently put on are reducing the heat she feels on her legs from the (standard) exhaust.

Regards,
Mark

You wont regret it. I love mine and really missed them when I had them off getting the airbrush done.
They actually hold quite a bit.

I just checked out your photo album of them. They really are nice. I'm looking forward to the receipt of mine. Still am "smarting" from the exorbitant cost though....

one pointer, don't overtorque the top boltws that go through the fender to hold on the bags.
When
i pulled off my tins for paint there was some dirt of somepthing in the threads and one of them stripped out.
It is a special stud only made by Corbin and they charged me $ 45 for 1 bolt. At first they didn't want to sell me it at all.

Sounds like an option would be just to run a new bolt (off the shelf) all of the way through... appreciate your warning and advice. I'll take special care when installing them....

You'll se what I'm talking about when you get them.
The bolt is threaded on both ends, one through the frame and one accepts a fancy nut that holds the bag on.
I also used a nylon washer between the bag and the "stud" to protect the paint. Not necessary but I'm kind of particular about my bike.

I paid $1,100.00 for mine.....primed, ready-for-paint???? two years ago.
I like them very, very much BUT!!!!...2 grand per set now a days?????.

You know what's really sad? Cash deal thru my dealer in '03 was $550 primed for my Victory. I like the Beetles, want the whole hot-rod-bagger look, but I'm thinkin' Tsukayu Jumbo Strongs for $609 make more sense.

I looked at the Tsukayu line of bags and seriously considered them. But they just don't have the lines/contours of those darned Beetle bags. Unfortunately.... :-?
