Has anyone checked to see what the static compression is on a new 2.5? 180psi 190psi 200psi, 210psi, probably some power in this stock engine that has hi comp pistons stock. I bet its tame. There’s probably 3 people on planet that know the answer to this in our orbit, Lush, Penner, Carpenter. But maybe someone on forum has been curious enough to check it.

You have an air pump, compression ratio does not change the pressure for a compression test for the most part, just timing so you can run a higher level fuel for more power.
it should be about 210 PSI depending on temperature and if it has adequate oil on the sleeves or if its sat for months. I can not confirm what the pressure should be for a new gen.
compression test is how much air can it pressurize before the pressure overcomes the piston rings before the cam opens and closes valves. more cam overlap, less compression when tested.
the most important part is that they are all basically the same and past a 200PSI range, i would expect a cold engine might show 180 but as long as they are all the same, warm things up by riding it or if cold and un ridden and you can't start it, drip a few drips of oil down the holes and crank it to lubricate the rings for a better reading. Also its a myth that the throttle needs to be open. its been proven for a long time now by motor trend that it does NOT make a difference.
of course im sure im no help but you know me... gotta chime in anyways!
a good way to understand what im talking about here Compression ratio - Wikipedia
Why whats going on with your compression?

210 would be good but im guessing the new 2.5s are probably under 200, warranty, my compression is fine, i set at 210ish but i can move it wherever i want 160 to 260 using a wheel and adjusting, theyre going for a record at bonneville and can do some timing work to find some power.
