2.5 Mystery Fork Oil

When I put Progressive springs in my Roadster I went with Belray 7w and that was fine.

Just found the Honda Showa SS8 for $9/quart. Anyone know the difference between SS8 and SS47(G)?

... Source- did you call them? Thanks! I called my local dealer, expecting little, and was told they don't carry what's listed in the manual. Yep. I asked what the shop would put in if I took it to them (nope) and the parts guy said 10wt. BellRay. Your dealer said 5wt.

So, who Fknows? Not the dealership.

I'm probably going to go with Honda Showa SS8, which according to this chart (link below) is 10wt, but still open to suggestions- especially information on the mysterious Showa SS-47G.

I did read somewhere that the 47 is lighter than the SS8, so my thinking is (if true) that the 10wt will stiffen up the front a little more and I'm OK wit dat!

IMHO 5W is too light for a heavy-weight MC. 7W or 8W would be my choice. Just enough viscosity to prevent wallowing in the twisties.
Even 10W would be better than 5W.
