100 Octane Should I use it?

I second that Tal, still amazed how much better the bike runs, sounds and uses less fuel! (even tho on the map i still seem to be somewhere off the african coast! lol.)

I'm surprised that you have better fuel economy now that you are getting on the throttle more!

Found this app last week wish I had it before the trip south.

I've a touring and it says run 87 oct. but I run 89 because I really don't believe that they are giving us real time numbers. I believe it come out of the manufacturing at 87 but loses quality as it evaporates. Why else would the keep filling tanks every few days or so. Just my 2 Canadian cents.

Like Lush said, run it. Maybe a half tank, That's what I do when I want to smell the fuel. Makes me feel fast. Other than that, I'm just $12 bucks lighter

Well, in my studies octane is not an indicator of quality. It is the "flash point" of the fuel. That is one of the reasons it helps with the pinging on older engines.
And as stated works best in high compression settings.

I use "Clean" (no ethanol) in my bikes and lawn mower. Most of the clean gas around here is an 88 Octane.
Most Maverick and Sinclair stations have it in Utah.

Back in the day they had Ethel, Regular and Premium, etc.. Don't know what those had in them, though. But I think they all had lead.

Ok so besides the various creatures that can kill me in Australia I also have to be wary of the gas. Hot it

Unlike the US (due to those "ridiculous" regulations ), most countries like NZ, AU, UK and Canada all have gasolines that are fairly clean and suited for the R3. Running the 87, 91, or 94 Octane gas in those countries is fine, however when in the US, I use their Premium Grade gas.

In Sydney here in Aus, I use only 98. When I’m in some god forsaken place in the country areas I make a judgement call on how much I think they sell ie if water has got into the underground tank and how long it’s sat there. And I base this on being caught out in the past.
