For Sale 07 rocket with all the Corbin goodies

I was hit by a deer in 1976. Luckily I was the survivor. Broadsided by a 6 point buck with his head down.

benelli,
I live within 35 miles from you (Delafield). I can certainly understand the decision you have made. I too worry about the dreaded deer jumping out in front. I limit my speed and quantity of nigh time rides especially this time of year. I hope your friends heal emotionally and physically.

I do have a question related to your Rocket. Had I not just purchased my Rocket X...your set up would have been perfect...In fact I called Corbin today to see what lead times look like on Beetle Bags and Fleetliner FAirings.

1. How well do they work? no stability changes on the bike and wind deflection is good?
2. Do they come off easily incase you want to go back to a naked look.

I appreciate any feedback you may have.

Thanks

I have given it time, hoping the spark would reignite. I have it time when my friend was killed right in front of my wife and I from a car pulling in front of him. Time after I hit a 110# Rottweiler going 50mph, nearly losing it. Time when my father got swiped by a deer (it jumped between him and his tall windshield on his vtx1800) causing him to low, the high side, losing half his right hand. Time when another friend got sided by a deer, killing him. And this time happened at the memorial ride remembering him. All this has happened within two riding seasons. I've lost and had other friends go down, but not like it is today. Maybe it's because I'm older and have more fear in life??

I've had two wheels since I was 6. It was always my therapy. Now it is nerve racking

Hey if it is time to give it up then by all means do so and enjoy your life and other hobbies. I did notice deer stands 50 yards or so from the interstate while I road up to Wausau, that was my first clue to watch out !!!!!!!!! I am not sure but I can see the benefit of letting them shoot them before they cross the road!!!!!!!!! If you decide to get rid of the saddle or who ever buys it decides they do not like the saddle point them in my direction I have a few OEM ones laying around. In fact I have the set off a 07 that has not been on the bike since the show room !!
Good luck to ya!!!!!

Sorry to hear about the plight of your friends / relatives. Deer are pretty common here in Michigan too. The thought of hitting one scares the hail out of me. I've hit two of them with cars and have seen the damage they cause. I had this discussion with my wife a year or so ago, that this is kind of a dangerous hobby. I wanted to make sure she understood the risks when she climbs on the back. For us the pros still out weigh the cons. Someday that might change. Sad to see you go brother, but totally understand your rational.
